Greg has been playing the guitar and bass for over 25 years. His musical education began at the age of 13 through private lessons with a local guitar teacher. These lessons continued throughout high school and then accompanied several college music courses. In 1990 he began studying with jazz/folk guitarist and Berkley faculty member Jane Miller. Shortly after, he began giving private lessons at a local rehearsal studio. Within a year he was invited to fill a teaching position at Gordon's Music in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
Greg has experience with a variety of styles including acoustic, electric, bass, live performances, recording, teaching, rock, metal, pop, jazz, folk, and blues. He can help you with technique, strumming, flat picking, accompanying, solos, and chord melody among other things. Lessons balance essentials of guitar technique and theory with learning songs. Songs are chosen in collaboration with students to keep learning fun and motivating while building a solid base of understanding. The goal of the lesson is to develop the ability to improve artistically and technically, to nurture passion and creativity, and most of all to enjoy playing the guitar!
