I started working on guitars in the mid 80's doing simple adjustments for myself and a few friends.
This led to an entry level position assembling circuit boards for a small electronics company, and over time I aquired a solid understanding of the basics of electronic circuit design. Over
the years I looked for jobs whose skills I could apply to my musical interests. I read many
books and articles focusing on wiring, intonation, and fret work, and spent numerous years in both machine
and cabinet shops.
In early 1992 I completed my first full restoration on an '81 Gibson V with a broken headstock.
Though it did not come out perfectly, I was quite happy with it and the experience I gained was invaluable.
For the past 15 years I have worked on intruments owned by all types of players from beginners just doing it
for fun, to professionals who make their livings with their instruments. Each instrument receives equal care,
and setups are specified to each player's individual needs, style, and taste. --Greg
